A New Semester

I'm back in Missoula now and the first week of college has just finished. I got back a week before classes to give myself a chance to get over jetlag and to do some exploring. Myself and the other IFG girls went on a trip over to Idaho to spend a day at some hotsprings. On the way we stopped off at Lolo pass on the state border. It is a really picturesque mountainous location. We also took another trip up to the bison range but we weren't able to see any bison that day, but we did see three different species of deer.

I tried out all of the classes I was interested in during the week. I have to do 15 credits this semester and I have selected 18 so there is room to drop one 3 credit class. I haven't decided which one to drop so I will probably attend them all again next week until I make my mind up. So far I'm taking, global tectonics, subsurface imaging, Miocene structure of north west USA, petroleum geology, and igneous and metamorphic petrology.

Once the spring comes I'm going to have a good bit of field work. For 3 straight weekends in April I will have field trips all related to the classes I'm taking. There will be lots of assignments, papers and presentations to be prepared in the mean time, not to mention preparing for finals.

I'll post again as more happens in my classes. I'm looking forward to the work involved and dare I say, even more so then last term. Bye for now :)
